His parents’ marriage was annulled in 1979. After dropping out of college, he traveled to Toronto to record his first album. The CD also yielded Italian and Portuguese editions of the album, with most of the songs translated into those languages. The album also included a cover version of the Yazoo song “Only You”, translated into Spanish as “Solo en Tí”. For their safety, Enrique and his brother, Julio Iglesias, Jr., were sent to live with their father in Miami.
